Mom - The Virtuous Woman
Young mothers have an overwhelming responsibility. Trusting God will help.
In the words of our Heavenly Father: Proverbs 31 Paraphrased by me.
She is far more precious than jewels and her value is far above rubies or pearls.
God wants you to know how special you are to Him. He has created you and knows your every need. Go to Him when things get tough.
Her husband trusts her and she encourages him and does him only good as long as she lives.
Are there times you don’t feel like it? We need to anyway. God created him to carry the burden, so let him. Our job is to encourage and uplift.
She takes time with God so she is nourished and can provide nourishment for her family.
We cannot be all we need to be without taking time out for ourselves and God. Somehow find time to be alone with God, even if it’s only a few minutes. If necessary, go to the restroom, close the door and breathe and call upon your Heavenly Farther for His help.
She is mindful not to take on too many “new” responsibilities, but considers her present duties and makes them her priority.
It’s not easy to say “No”, but we must. Our priorities are relatively simple.
God first
Husband second
Children third
Keep this in mind before adding another commitment.
She takes care of herself spiritually, mentally and physically.
This is a must. We must take time to rejuvenate or we’ll be good to nobody. Find time in your day to do something that pleases you. That may mean a nap while the kids are napping. The dishes may have to wait. Rest is a weapon we need to fight the battles we face each day.
She knows her work with and for God is good; therefore she warns off fear, doubt and distrust.
Trust your Heavenly Father even in the hard times. Learn to rest in Him. Get to know who He really is by taking time to read the Bible.
She is giving and kind.
This is only possible when we receive His kindness. He adores you, just as you are.
She works with her hands to care for her family.
The WAHM/Christen Women communities are there to help; become a part of them. Find what you love to do and do it. Don’t be afraid to ask for help.
Strength and dignity are her clothing and she fears not for the future, because she and her God are ready for it. She rejoices in the great things to come.
She opens her mouth with skillful and godly Wisdom and in her tongue is kindness.
Don’t waste time with gossip or those that do. Take the advice we received as children. If we don’t have something nice to say, be quiet.
Her children admire her and call her blessed. And her husband boast of her character that is steadfast in goodness.
Charm and grace are deceptive and beauty is vain, but a woman who respects the Lord shall be praised! Her own works will praise her in the city.
As we follow God’s plan for our lives, we find fulfillment. Though we come from different backgrounds and circumstances, when we call upon our Heavenly Father, He promises to help.
